- As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
- My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Psalm 42:1-2 NIV
Family,
As a deer seeks to quench his thirst with water after running to escape his enemy, likewise we should thirst for the living God. Often, due to enduring life circumstances, we become weary and feel separated from God. Because of it, we may say, my soul is in need of revival; my soul is in need of a fresh encounter with God.
In our Thursday corporate Bible studies, we have learned to experience revival, a fresh encounter with God. There are four things we must do: We must sincerely repent of any unconfessed sin, put away any doubtful habit, promptly obey the Spirit, and publicly confess Christ.
If we truly desire revival, a fresh encounter with God, we as the body of Christ cannot have the mindset of believing we can walk close to the world and hope not to sin. We cannot flirt with temptation. Instead, we must flee from it.
Revival requires repentance and intentional living of abstaining from the evil things of this world and embracing the holy thigs of God. As we do so, our enthusiasm and obedience to the Lord will be revived. The scales covering our eyes hindering our vision to the movement of the Holy Spirit will be removed. Our ability to hear God’s voice will be intensified. When this occurs, we will be in position to experience revival, a fresh encounter with God.
Remember, revival, a fresh encounter with God starts with true repentance.

Pastor Rose
