Family,
As we progress in our 19th year of ministry, God is calling us to the Great Commission. Just as Jesus instructed His disciples, He is instructing us that under
His authority, we are to make disciples, baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach new disciples to obey Christ. We are also to tell the new disciples that Jesus will be with them always. Therefore, no matter where we go, whether it is to our next door neighbor, to another city, state or country, we are to share the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In sharing the Good News of Jesus, we should share the following:
- Everyone has sinned. We all fall short of God’s glorious standard (Romans 3:23 NLT). Share that sin causes death and separation from God, now and for all eternity. Because of it, everyone is in need of a Savior. The Savior being Jesus Christ.
- Jesus is the Son of God and is one with God. For Jesus said “The Father and I are one” (John 10:30 NLT).
- Share the facts of Jesus’ death and resurrection in how He took the punishment for our sin and died in our place when He shed His blood on the cross. Share that on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and He lives forevermore, sitting on the right side of God the Father praying for us and preparing a place for us. (Acts 2:30-32; 3:26; 4:2; 10:40)
- If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 NLT)
- Share your testimony how in faith you came to know Jesus as your Savior. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV)
Remember, sharing the Good News of Jesus is not about us, it’s about someone coming to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. It’s about making disciples. Also, remember, in doing so, we don’t’ have to be fearful. For, God is always with us.
In His Service,
Pastor Rose
