speak

Body of Christ,

As children of the Almighty God, we must be steadfast in our faith in believing that God is our healer. As a health care professional I have seen the devastation of the COVID-19 virus. I have had the pleasure of speaking to many who have overcome the virus, some who have no ill-effects, while others experience post-traumatic stress from being isolated for an extended period.

On Sunday, October 25, 2020, I was experiencing nasal congestion, coughing, hadn’t slept much and just wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t have a fever or sore throat but on the previous Friday, I did. I will be honest, I thought, “What if I have COVID?” I was only experiencing a common cold, but to be obedient to our leadership’s recommendation, I stayed home.  If it was any other time, no matter how congested or bad I felt, I would have pressed my way to church believing God would strengthen me to fulfill the purpose and plan He had for me.

The Lord revealed that although we say we are not fearful during this time of pandemic, we do have concerns going into the cold and flu season when COVID symptoms are similar. Just remember to cover your cough and sneezes, wash your hands frequently, wear your facial covering, and be mindful of social distancing.

As God’s children, when sickness and disease come upon us, remember Isaiah 53:5 NKJV, But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

When we become sick or diagnosed with a disease, let us anoint ourselves with oil, lay hands on ourselves, and ask God to heal us in the Name of His Son, Jesus.  Then in faith and believing, walk in the healing.

Proverbs 18:21 NKJV says Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

The Lord is cautioning us to not speak the worse upon ourselves but instead, believe and speak the best for ourselves. We must stop yielding to the “what if” and start praying, believing, and acting on the “what shall be”.

Cornerstone, let us stay on the wall and remain steadfast in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In His Service,

Pastor Rose
