True Peace

Scripture says:

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
6. Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and
thank Him for all He has done.
7. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His
peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
In knowing this, why do we worry? Why are we anxious? God wants us to know that the cure
for worry or anxiety is prayer. When we pray:
1. We renew our trust in the Lord’s faithfulness by casting all our anxieties and problems
on Him who cares for us.
2. The peace of God comes to guard our hearts and minds as a result of our communion
with Christ Jesus,
3. God strengthens us to do all the things that He desires of us/
4. We receive mercy, grace and help in the time of need.
5. We are assured that in all things God works for our good.

We must understand, God’s peace is different than the world’s peace. True peace is not found
in positive thinking, in absence of conflict or in good feelings. True peace comes from knowing
that God is in control. Peace comes in knowing that our citizenship is in the kingdom of God.
Therefore, let the peace of God guard our hearts against worry and anxiety.
