May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God….

(Psalm 20:5 NLT)

Some of you may have asked the question, why have we incorporated the use of flags during praise and worship?  We have done so as an act of worship to demonstrate our adoration to God. In ministering with flags, we declare to the body of Christ that the Lord is our banner.

The use of flags and banners in worship declares that we are lifting up a standard against the enemy. Above all, the use of flags in worship acknowledges our Lord as Jehovah Nissi, The Lord Our Banner.

In the book of Exodus, Chapter 17, Moses identified the Lord as the banner under which Israel defeated the Amalekites.  To seal this declaration, Moses built an altar and called it Jehovah Nissi, The Lord our banner. In battle, opposing nations flew their flag on a pole which was positioned on the front line to give the soldiers hope.  Likewise, when we worship God with flags, we are declaring victory over the enemy because the Lord is our banner.  In this, we have hope.

In His Service,
