Body of Christ,

369194350 640

We are living in a day where there is a falling away from the church.  Many no longer hold the Lord’s command of remembering the Sabbath day and to keep it holy.  There are some who have received Jesus as their Savior and deliberately choose to sin after receiving knowledge of the truth.  Yet, there are others who believe they can straddle the fence by keeping one foot in the church and one foot in the world. We must understand, we cannot serve two masters.  We cannot serve both God and Satan. Just as Joshua admonished the Israelites, “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve”, we too must choose whom we will serve. We must remember, Jesus will return like a thief in the night.  We don’t know the day or the hour of His return; thus, we must be prepared.

We become prepared by:

1. Believing and confessing with our mouth that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead.

2. Acknowledging that we are sinners and are in need of a Savior.

3.  Repenting of our sin and asking Jesus to forgive us and to come into our heart to be our Savior and Lord.

4. Reading God’s Word with consistency and applying His Word to our daily lives.

Therefore, in preparation for Jesus’ return, let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted with His promise.  Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is near.

(Hebrews 10:23-25NLT)
